Museum Siam (Discovery Museum)

Museum Siam is the first national discovery museum and a new age museum for today’s learning generation. It aims to provide a fresh, living museum experience by encouraging visitors to think and making them curious to learn and to question. Particularly, it focuses on the interaction between the exhibition and visitors since this will lead to endless new discoveries.

The Museum Siam strives to become a centre of learning for pleasure and create a new concept and image of the “Modern Museum” of Thailand that fosters opportunities in knowledge building and develops creativity and innovation outside school. It offers learning of Thai history with fun by allowing visitors to play interactively with cutting edge multi-media technology.

How to get there :

BTS - Sky train
  • Take a sky train to the Taksin Bridge Station.
  • Go below the bridge to take a Chao Phraya River boat from the Sathon pier.
Personal Car
  • Take a Chao Phraya River boat from the Sathon pier.
  • The river boat will pass the Oriental pier, Si Phraya pier, Ratchawong pier before getting to the Memorial Bridge pier.
  • Disembark at the Memorial Bridge pier (Saphan Phut in Thai).
  • Once you have disembarked at the Memorial pier, skirt around the the King Rama I Memorial and go to Chakraphet Road.
  • Turn left into Chakraphet Road and you’ll see the Flower Market by the road.
  • Walk along Chakraphet Road till you get to the bridge and three-prong junction.
  • Take the road to the right of the Phraratchawang Police Station.
  • That’s Sanam Chai Road.
  • Museum Siam is about 120 meters on the left.

Personal Car
  • Take the city toll way to Yommarat Exit.
  • Head down Sanam Luang
  • Drive through the Grand Palace
  • Head down to the Sanam Chai Road
  • Drive through Wat Pho
  • The Museum of Siam is on the right hand side of the road.
  • Next to the museum is the famous Flower Market
  • Car parks are available inside the museum.
Taxi
  • Take a taxi from your area to the museum via Grand Palace or Wat Pho.
  • From Sukhumvit Road may take approximately 45 minutes to an hour.
  • Tuk Tuk or taxi from Wat Pho from the Grand Palace shouldn't charge more than THB 40 to the museum. (Charge fair is subject to change)
Bus
  • Many buses pass here. The bus no. are 3, 6,12, 32, 44, 47, 53, 82, and 524.
